Documents to Prepare from the Philippines to Canada | Solo International Student
As an international student, you must ensure that you have all the necessary documents during travel in case the immigration officer asks for them. Otherwise, you might risk being offloaded or unable to leave the Philippines or enter Canada.
As I prepared for my flight back in April 2022, I did a lot of research on the travel experience of fellow Filipino international students, so I could know what kind of documents they prepared and what documents were asked by the immigration officers of both countries. While each person prepared different kinds of documents based on their situation (single or with spouse and dependents; or sponsored), it can be broken down into five categories.
The 5 Categories are:
- Travel Documents
- IRCC Documents
- School Documents
- Personal Documents
- Financial Documents
As a solo international student, I prepared a total of 23 documents. Aside from having the original copy on hand, I scanned everything and uploaded the soft copy into my Google Drive. I also prepared one photocopy for each except the financial documents.
Not all of these documents were asked, but I think it’s better to be prepared to be on the safe side. And knowing that I had these documents on hand gave me peace of mind during my travel.
Here are the documents I prepared for my travel.
